Dropkick Murphys and the St. Patrick's Day Tourist Brigades

This week, I was fortunate enough to attend one of Dropkick Murphys' annual shows in Boston, MA. There was lots of beer, lots of green, and lots of drunk people.

Security was tight due to the Paddy's Day lunacy. I managed to get a few shots before all official photographers were kicked out - despite the  50 year old women with point-and-shoots in the front row.

The Three Shoot Week, Or: What I'm Doing with My Life

Hi there. I'm Tyler Lavoie. For those of you who don't know me, I'm a Boston photographer/videographer, currently studying at Emerson College. Welcome to my website. You'll find my work, some bits about me, and this here blog.

This semester, I've had the privilege of shooting for the up-and-coming entertainment blog Emertainment Monthly. Despite their recent start, these guys are legit. This year, we've had interviews with Theophilus London, Jon Bellion, and Melanie Martinez - not to mention coverage of all the best Boston shows.

You can see my concerts list in the sidebar. Here are some highlights:

On Wednesday, after a long battle with the box office, I shot JD McPherson at The Sinclair. Absolutely unreal - everyone was decked out in rockabilly gear and the band was impeccable.

Then, the next day, I was lucky enough to meet Malaysian Safari Magazine at Excision's House of Blues show. I was invited backstage and got a few photos of (and with) EDM producer Protohype. After that, I spent the remainder of Minnesota and Excision's sets onstage.

Pretty cool!

On top of all that, I just shot a fashion spread for this quarter's em Magazine. No spoilers on what the theme's going to be, but here's a hint: it's one of 2014's top fashion searches and it rhymes with "health sloth".

There have been many incredible developments over the past month, and I'm excited to share them here.

Welcome to the new site. Check out my work, and, if you're reading, keep your eyes peeled for more.
